About Us

Invent2Prevent is a club at BTHS that focuses on addressing targeted violence and hate. Targeted violence refers to any incident of violence against a specific target that is designed to intimidate or coerce a broader population. Club members typically work together and choose a specific bias going on in society. Tactics or strategies regarding ways to stop the bias are discussed and taken into action so that such bias does not persist in society. Our target audience typically ranges from elementary schoolers to high schoolers depending on the topic that is being discussed.

Our Team

In the Fall of 2022, our team decided to spread awareness about Islam. This was done through many activities such as creating puzzles, station activities, and spreading information throughout our community. Our puzzle reflected on some aspects of Islam in order to aware others about the misconceptions they might have about the religion. Our project was selected by MCCAIN INSTITUTE, where we were invited to present our project to Homeland Security in Washington DC. Our team placed third in the nation and was awarded a national award.
